Bomet University College (BUC) Chaplain, Dr. Rev. Elijah Odhiambo has made an urgent appeal issuing a strong directive to all students, emphasizing the need for consistent semester registration.
Speaking during the Christian Union (CU) service on November 30, 2025, he urged them to register for the semester’s units in order to avoid cases of missing marks.
“I want to appeal to all students to register for the units of this semester and to be doing so each and every semester so as to avoid the issue of missing marks,” Dr. Odhiambo said.
Dr. Rev. Odhiambo stressed that completing the registration process every term is vital for the accurate recording of academic progress and ensuring students are properly listed for courses and examinations.
Failure to register can lead to significant administrative hurdles, including delayed results or the inability to obtain final transcripts due to missing marks.
“By registering for the units, the issues on the missing marks will be reduced and also you will be properly listed for courses and examinations,” Dr. Odhiambo added.

He further reminded the congregation that the students' primary purpose at BUC is academic excellence.
"You have to read and do your best academically, for that is what brought you to B.U.C,” Dr. Odhiambo said.
He further warned them against academic misconduct, specifically exam cheating, reminding students that it is not only against the spiritual principles of the BUC Christian Union but also a severe breach of university rules, which can lead to expulsion.
Dr. Rev. Odhiambo also addressed the sensitive matter of student welfare, expressing concern over reports of female students resorting to abortion upon discovering they are pregnant.
He appealed directly to any students facing this difficult situation, urging them to avoid abortion and instead accept their current reality.
He encouraged them to appear before the School Chaplaincy Office for confidential guidance, counselling, and support on how to proceed.
